Sean Casey – Baseball

  • A graduate of Upper St. Clair High School and the University of Richmond
  • Led USC to the WPIAL title in 1992.
  • At Richmond, led NCAA Division I in batting average (.461) in 1995
  • Drafted in 2nd round by Cleveland Indians in 1995 and made club in 1997
  • Played for Cincinnati Reds 1998-2005, Pittsburgh Pirates in 2006, Detroit Tigers in 2006-07 and Boston Red Sox in 2008.
  • Three-time MLB All-Star (1999, 2001 and 2004)
  • Inducted in to the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012, University of Richmond Hall of Fame in 2003, Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 2014 and Upper St. Clair High School Hall of Fame in 2001
  • Founder/benefactor: Casey’s Clubhouse Playground and Miracle Field in 2016 in Upper St. Clair
