Charles (Chuck) Burkhart – Football

  • A graduate of Montour High School and Penn State University
  • Eight – sport letterman at Montour in football, basketball and golf
  • Played on 3 Class A Undefeated teams, winning the WPIAL Class A Championship in 1963 and 1964
  • Winner of the 1965 Pittsburgh Curbstone Coaches Scholar Athlete Award and played (Co-Captain) in the 1966 Big 33 Game
  • High school All-Conference, All-WPIAL, All-State and Scholastic Magazine All- American in 1965
  • Quarterbacked Penn State to their only back-to-back undefeated seasons in 1969 and 1970
  • Penn State ranked #2 both of those years and appeared in the Orange Bowl both seasons
  • Named the Most Valuable Back in 1970 Orange Bowl Game
  • At Penn State, AP All–State in 1968 and 1969, All–East in 1969 and AP Honorable Mention All– American in 1969
  • Played in the Senior Bowl in 1970 and was a Dapper Dan National Award winner in 1969 and 1970
