High school All-Conference, All-WPIAL, All-State and Scholastic Magazine All- American in 1965
Quarterbacked Penn State to their only back-to-back undefeated seasons in 1969 and 1970
Penn State was ranked #2 in both 1969 and 1970 and appeared in the Orange Bowl both seasons
Was named the Most Valuable Back in the 1970 Orange Bowl Game
At Penn State, he was AP All–State in 1968 and 1969, All–East in 1969 and AP Honorable Mention All– American in 1969
He played in the Senior Bowl in 1970 and was a Dapper Dan National Award winner in 1969 and 1970
